A short, practical guide

How temporary email works

Mailmellow creates a temporary address for a one-off task. No sign-up is needed. Use it only where disposable addresses are allowed, and treat the inbox as temporary—not as private storage.

From address to inbox in three steps

01

Create an address

Open Mailmellow and a temporary address is created for you. You do not need to provide a personal email or make an account.

02

Use it where permitted

Use it for a low-risk, one-off sign-up or for testing your own email flow—only when the other service accepts disposable addresses. Do not use it to bypass a site's rules.

03

Receive incoming mail

When a sender accepts the address and delivers a message, it appears in the inbox. Mailmellow receives email; it does not send outgoing messages. Delivery is not guaranteed.

02

Useful for one-off tasks—not important accounts

A reasonable fit

  • Low-risk sign-ups where temporary addresses are accepted.
  • Testing your own forms, demos, or email delivery.

Use a regular mailbox instead

  • Banking, payments, health, work, or other critical accounts.
  • Password resets or account recovery.
  • Confidential messages or anything that needs a lasting record.
03

Know the limits before you start

A temporary address is not a long-term mailbox. These are the product limits that matter:

Starts with10 minutes

Each new inbox starts with a ten-minute active lifetime.

Can be extendedUp to 60 minutes

Add ten minutes at a time while it is active, up to a sixty-minute total limit.

Recovery windowLimited

Recovery is available only while the configured recovery window is open and the browser recovery token is available. It is not a dependable archive.

No registration is required. Still, do not assume complete anonymity: limited technical signals may be processed to protect the service from abuse.
